Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Prairies, Western, Eastern and Atlantic

Reports to: VP of Business Development

Job Purpose: The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving business growth within the company. This involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and developing strategies to increase revenue. The BDM works closely with various departments to ensure the successful execution of business development strategies and plays a key role in achieving the company’s financial objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.Market Research and Analysis:

  • Identify and evaluate market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Conduct research to identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, and trends.
  • Analyze data and provide insights to inform business strategies.

2. Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Develop strategies to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders.

3. Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, including networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals to potential clients.

4. Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute business development plans.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of business development initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with business development activities.

5.Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and product development teams to align business development efforts with overall company objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

6. Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets for business development activities.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure that initiatives are cost-effective.
  • Report on financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.

7. Contract Negotiation:

  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and partners.
  • Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and that deals are aligned with company policies and objectives.

8. Brand Representation:

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company’s brand and values.
  • Maintain a professional image and build a strong reputation within the industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of regional and local market dynamics and industry trends.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
